TAP-OUT!

Scripture:

Psalm 18:2 (NIV): The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge...

Devotion: Submission- a loaded topic that can be taken down different paths of discussion. For this post, submission to God will be the focus.  Submission is a gift. Have you ever thought of submission as being a gift? When we submit to God that is, "to accept or yield to" what He has designed for us, life becomes a celebration. Why a celebration? Because in spite of the challenging times, hard times, disappointing times, scary times, and not-knowing times, when we yield to (give in to) God, His plan for us is more than we could think of for ourselves. In submission, the fight (thoughts such as, should I, can I, how will I) is not yours, it belongs to the Lord. So relieve yourself from the struggle to try to make things happen on your own, give it to God. When you submit in the fight, your not giving up- your giving in to God. Your yielding allows God to do what He is known to be- a Deliverer!

Reflection: What happens when you submit to what God wants and has in store for you? An overflow of goodness, mercy, love, forgiveness, faithfulness, joy, peace, comfort, friendship, and love are a few instant crowns gained. The showing of this in your life manifests in so many ways, acquiring the things you have longed for and desired—-it can be yours! Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I can tap-out and give this fight to you! I am grateful to know that the battle is not mine and I have a Deliverer in You to bring me higher than I can ever think of bringing myself. Help me Lord to learn to submit my heart, mind and spirit to you. Help me to lean into you, and to lean into those things you have whispered to me at the core of my heart. In the beautiful and powerful name of Jesus I pray, Amen!
